Years, Etymotic ER-4 series is the top class among the ear monitor headphones. Etys still a good product (and a great buy), produces sharp detail and excellent reproduction of high frequencies, but their weakness has been relatively modest amount of bass.

Recently, a group of challengers have emerged, including eg Shure SE530 ear muffs with Push-To-Hear Control Ultimate Ears Triple.fi 10 Pro Earphones Gun Metal Blue and very fine, as soon-to-be-released Westone 3. Consumers who want audiophile sound small in-ear, is facing a real embarrassment.

In the competition of these other products, the Sennheiser IE 8 will pay well. These headphones are small, comfortable and beautifully. They come with a variety of flange connection for a custom fit, and includes a unique feature among the small EMI, an adjustable bass control (use a tool like a small screwdriver that is included in the package).

The sound quality is clean and clear, without even a trace of opacity. The output level is slightly lower than the Shure 530, which means that when using a low power device like an iPod, you should adjust the volume quite high. This output is on par with Etymotic ER-4P premium, but low. Very good reproduction of detail is slightly better than the Shure, but is somewhat less than the Etymotic.

There are many things that can be rented for this product. First on my list is convenience. The IE8s come with a variety of tips. Of all these tips, I found two pairs that fit perfectly. Of the two pairs that will change regularly based on the environment I’m living in New York and relying on public transport often need soundproofing or I’ll end up ruining deafening volume and sooner rather than later. So that the flange is right for me. When I walk, I also do a lot for the city going to regular silicon tips that let in more ambient noise to hear that motorcycle or a car while crossing the street. I have not had a problem with the advice of falling or getting lost in the ear, but could be due to over-the-ear-clip is provided. The clip is flexible and can be folded into the shape of your ear.

 

The second thing is the sound. Having the ability to change the bass on the fly is a godsend. I have to go through the clumsy and inefficient EQ PMP or MP3 player or even my smart phone, just plug these to increase or decrease the bass or even worse play with the EQ trying to coax him to change the low . Detail of the music playback is excellent, even compressed audio files, uncompressed audio (FLAC) results are phenomenal. No opacity, or a covering over the sound rather muffled sound, like some others, like Shure, the sound is clear and clean with the perfect balance between the environment, high and low. Vote whatever the bottom singer’s singing is audible. The instruments in the background are isolated and can say where they are in relation to each other.

 

Durability is another thing that worries me, when you buy something the price is $ 300 +. Sennheiser offers a warranty of two years, and have dealt with them before, I do not see it as a problem for the purchase. The cables are detachable and replaceable. Their international web site I found them in two different lengths. Unfortunately, I could not find them on the websites of the United States. I’m sure if I called them and asked them to send it to me, they charge. the cleaning and earphones are also prolong the life and IE8s and so were also a tool for cleaning (which is at the end of this tool is a small flat head Screwdriver used to adjust the bass!).

 

Ultimately, I’m just an audiophile and pro-Jie, who loves music. That said, I am very happy with my purchase without having to worry that this is not the best pair of IEMS is $ 300 – $ 500 price range.
