SRAM Red Front Derailleur

SRAM Red Front Derailleur

$151.95

“No colors anymore I want them to turn black.” We’ll never know if the product managers at SRAM are Stones fans, but this is surely what they had in their heads when they developed their Red Black components. The good news is that you can get SRAM Red in two colors, and if you’re a fan of all black, then this Red Black Front Derailleur needs to be part of your new component kit.Like its standard Red counterpart, this front mech is a bit different from the less expensive Force front derailleur. From a structural standpoint, the one distinct difference between Red Black and Force is that Red has a hardened titanium cage in contrast to Force’s plated steel part. This makes the Red derailleur nearly 20g lighter than Force. The shaping is all the same and allows for quick and smooth shifting. That said, the real difference in front shifting technology between Red and Force, the most important details, are on the other end of the shifter cable — at the left DoubleTap shift lever. The Red Black Front Derailleur works equally well whether you’re using a compact crankset (50/34) or a standard one (53/39). Please note that SRAM makes this derailleur in a Braze-on style only.

SRAM Red Compact Crankset

SRAM Red Compact Crankset

$507.99

While the flawless shifting quality hasn’t changed, the all-black treatment on the SRAM Red Black Crankset will move you. We like it because its monochromatic version of the Nascar-esque graphical styling of Red seems more subdued and stealthy. All the same, the Black Red Crankset shares the top shelf with Red, and its DNA comes straight from SRAM’s earlier Force crankset.Moving back and forth between chainrings is substantially quicker, quieter, and more fluid in comparison to Force. Red’s exclusive use of ZeroLoss technology allows the Red DoubleTap shift lever to pull cable in the instant you put pressure on the shift lever. Another improvement in comparison to Force is the fact that with Red you can now microadjust the position of the front derailleur, so you can cross-chain to your heart’s content without getting ticketed for noise pollution. The final piece of the shifting puzzle is found here, in the Red Black Crankset. The redesigned profile of Red’s PowerGlide chainrings make them measurably stiffer, so more of your power turns into speed instead of component flex. But it’s not just about the added power-transfer that comes with flex-free chainrings — since they don’t flex, they pick up and drop off the chain with unparalleled ease, and they look fantastically Pro, to boot. Another critical difference between Red and Force is in its redesigned arms. Like Force, Red is an all-carbon crankset with an integrated BB spindle. It has carbon arms built on an aluminum spine, mated to a carbon spider. What’s different, though, is that Red’s arms have a lower profile, leading to a lower Q-factor and added stiffness. The SRAM Red Black Crankset is available in 170, 172.5, and 175mm crankarm lengths, and it’s available in 53/39 and 50/34 chainring configurations. Please Note: it does NOT come with a bottom bracket. You’ll need a SRAM/Truvativ GXP bottom bracket. One final note: SRAM Red compact cranksets don’t require a special compact-specific front derailleur.

SRAM Red Crankset BB30

SRAM Red Crankset BB30

$533.99

If you ever thought that Sram’s Red Crankset looked too sterile with their grey chainrings, have a look at this Red Black BB30 Crankset. Functionally, it’s the very same, though the new black chainrings give it a more sinister appearance. And since SRAM is a forward-looking company, they wanted to offer their top-of-the-line crankset in a version compatible with BB30 framesets. Please note that if you don’t have a BB30-specific frame, these cranks won’t work (just order the standard Red Black crankset instead!)Like the standard crankset, with the BB30 version you’ll get PowerGlide chainrings. They’re machined from 7075-T6 aluminum to be plenty stiff so more of your power turns into speed instead of component flex. But it’s not just about the added power-transfer that comes with flex-free chainrings — since PowerGlide chainrings don’t flex, they pick up and drop off the chain with unparalleled ease, And in addition to looking fantastically PRO, the hard anodized Black chainrings wear well and will give you many miles of smooth shifts. The BB30 design offers a number of benefits over standard external bearing cranksets, SRAM’s GXP design included. Perhaps most importantly, you’ll get a narrower crank at the spindle. This gives you significantly more ankle and heel clearance, so your shoes won’t as readily rub the carbon fiber crankarms if you pedal with your heels in/toes out. The shorter, larger diameter spindle is also 10% stiffer, and it’s 20% lighter as well. The Red Black BB30 Crankset is available in 170, 172.5, and 175mm crankarm lengths, and it’s available in 53/39 and 50/34 chainring configurations. One final note: SRAM Red compact Cranksets don’t require a special compact-specific front derailleur. You use the same Red front derailleur for the 53/39 as you do for the 50/34. Bottom Bracket NOT included.

SRAM Red Brake Caliper

SRAM Red Brake Caliper

$167.95

SRAM figured as long as their Red group functioned at the highest level, why not address the aesthetic? That’s exactly what Red Black is all about; it’s not about how it works. These Red Black Brake Calipers are exactly like their metallic Red counterparts, save for the black anodized, jewel-like polished finish.Red Brake Calipers take their inspiration from the “skeletonized” dual-pivot design of Force. SRAM does extensive machining to Red to make them over 10% lighter than Dura-Ace, and to save you an added 10g in comparison to Force. They’re ungodly light by production standards, with two nice upsides: (1) Their lightness doesn’t cause them to flex in the least. Your braking power will be stout. (2) They’re easy to set up, and they offer plenty of adjustability — both in terms of spring tension and the ease with which you can center them. With Red calipers, the combination of a dual-pivot design and a stout return spring gives you dynamic braking. Trying to avoid the final corner pile-up at your local crit? Red provides superb hard-stopping power. Trying to pick the best line through a hairpin on a descent? Red provides nuanced modulation to feather the brakes through the corner. Red Black Brake Calipers are built with cold forged aluminum arms and titanium pivot and mounting bolts to give you the right feel for the right situation.

SRAM RED Cassette OG-1090 Black, 11x28

SRAM RED Cassette OG-1090 Black, 11×28

$278.95

Lighter than the AAAother twoAAA, harder than titanium, and featuring an advanced monocoque milled-steel design, the SRAM Red OG-1090 Cassette is just plain awesome. The top eight cogs of the OG-1090 are actually machined in one piece from a solid block of cromoly steel, then nickel plated for hardness. That means that they, or it, is or are amazingly stiff, bare-knuckle tough, and light enough to justify the cost before you even consider the simplicity of not dealing with eight cogs and spacers. Two floating final cogs complete the OG-1090′s ten speeds, with the same smooth-shifting OpenGlide tooth configuration as the top eight.

SRAM Rival Rear Derailleur

SRAM Rival Rear Derailleur

$103.95

The knee-knocking shift quality of DoubleTap levers carries straight through from Red into Rival. The stout 2-spring construction with Exact Actuation technology of the Red and Force rear derailleurs is replicated in every detail in Rival. You’ll feel the same quick, crisp, positive shifting you get with Red and Force. In fact, there are only two differences of note between Force and Rival — Rival has stainless steel hardware instead of the Ti you’ll find in Force. And the finish of this second-generation Rival rear derailleur is black throughout, including its fully-aluminum cage for the jockey wheels. At 190g the Rival rear derailleur comes in at a mere 16g heavier than the Force, with a cost savings of over 50%. If you embrace technology, but prefer to keep a death grip on your wallet, this is another example of why Rival is tailor made for you. The SRAM Rival Rear Derailleur is available with two cage length options — Medium and Short. The Medium has a maximum 37t chain wrap capacity and can handle up to a 32t cog. The Short cage version has a 30t chain wrap capacity and can handle a 28t cog.

SRAM Rival Front Derailleur

SRAM Rival Front Derailleur

$69.99

The Rival front derailleur is built with the same outer plate design as Red and Force, allowing you to use all 10 cogs on your cassette while you’re in the big chainring with minimal chain rub. You can cross-chain all day long in your big ring without having trim the front derailleur. And when you’re in the small ring you need only one trim position in order to make silent use of all 10 cogs. It’s identical in virtually every way to Red and Force, except that you get a high-polished aluminum finish with black highlights, and it lacks titanium hardware.Like Red and Force, the Rival front derailleur can handle any chainring differential up to 16 teeth. This means you’ll use the same derailleur for a 53/39 crankset as you will a 50/36 or 50/34. The braze-on version weighs in at 88g, while the clamp-on versions run closer to 103g. Available in braze-on, 31.8mm clamp, and 34.9mm clamp. The actual weight of the SRAM Rival Front Derailleur: Braze-on is 89g. 31.8 is 101g. 34.9 is 101g.

SRAM Red Compact Crankset Black, GXP 170mm / 50-34

SRAM Red Front Derailleur One Color, 31.8 Clamp

SRAM Red Crankset BB30 LE TDF (Yellow), 170mm / 53-39

SRAM Red Crankset BB30 LE TDF (Yellow), 170mm / 53-39

Chris King Road Bottom Bracket - SRAM

Chris King Road Bottom Bracket – SRAM

$144.95

Ever since Chris King unveiled their bottom bracket, Shimano riders have reveled in having the King name adorn their drivetrains. This SRAM compatible version allows the Chris King Road Bottom Bracket to be used on all SRAM GXP, Truvativ GXP, and Bontrager GXP cranksets with a stepped 24mm axle. King’s bottom bracket was a long time coming, and as expected it upholds the unparalleled quality standard that Chris King established a long time ago with his headsets. The aluminum cups of the Chris King Road Bottom Bracket house 24 stainless steel balls in each of the made-in-house cartridge bearings. They are user serviceable with the Chris King Grease Injection Tool (available separately). Simply squirt fresh grease into the bearings to purge the gunky, used grease and keep things spinning smoothly. This system has a fringe benefit for racers — it gives you the option of running a very thin grease or even oil on race day in order to minimize bearing drag. And when you’re not racing, it’s a snap to inject thicker grease to maximize durabilityThe Chris King SRAM Road Bottom Bracket is available in Black and Red. This SRAM version does NOT come with cup spacers and is designed to thread directly into a 68mm shell without them. Two final technical notes: (1) The Chris King Bottom Bracket is available in English threading (aka 68mm) ONLY. It is not available for Italian threads. No, there is no way to rig it to work for Italian BB shells. Sorry. (2) It is NOT compatible with mountain cranksets due to one critical issue — the thickness of the external portion of the cups is different between road and mountain. We offer a very-similar-yet-different Chris King SRAM compatible bottom bracket for mountain bikes. The cups can be installed and removed with a Shimano style bottom bracket tool.

SRAM Red Crankset - Compact - BB30

SRAM Red Crankset – Compact – BB30
