Overcome your NPTAE Test-taking Anxiety!

The primary idea behind tests and exams is to measure the candidate’s knowledge and ability to comprehend. The questions differ as some of them measure factual knowledge while some test conceptual know how. Questions can be in varied formats like true or false, multiple choice, short answer, essay or reading comprehension.

Answering types of questions consisting of various forms is beneficial in being prepared. Answering of some questions can be longer than others, or may require the answer to be worked out. Some test takers are much better in some forms of questions but not in another. The research of what kind of questions might appear in the test is important and you can answer them correctly by practicing well.

Any NPTAE question should be attempted in such a way where not a lot time is spent on each one.

Flashcards are great when it comes to mastering multiple choice or true/false kinds of questions, because these are purely factual in nature. It may or may not be a good thing for you to guess on your test questions, so learn about how this will influence your exam score beforehand.

In contrast to multiple choice questions, which generally test specific knowledge, complex question formats for example short answers, essays, and reading comprehension, test your ability to synthesize and apply a broad range of ideas.

Although you may not always be sure of specific factual information, your responses should include the fundamental ideas that pertain to the questions. You can boost your performance on this type of question by displaying that you can grasp these core ideas.

Different types of questions have different grades in NPTAE exams. Objective type questions for example multiple choice and true or false questions have much less grade points than short answer types. While taking the test, spend less time on the questions which are graded lower and invest much more time on questions that increase your score.
