Question for Canon Lenses?

I am looking for a standard Canon Lens (No zoom) no more than 100mm in focal length. I want a very low F number, F1.2 seems to be expensive, F1.4 seems to be a good price range, maybe even F1.8

What are some good lenses made by canon that is a just good general quality lens. I was looking at the 50mm F1.4 on ebay for over $300.

I want to find a good lens for $500 or less, any ideas?

Canon 50mm f/1.4 is a great and crystal sharp lens. Can’t go wrong with it. Note, that if you have a consumer/prosumer digital body like Digital Rebel or 40D it will be an equivalent of 80mm lens attached to a film body. Great for portraits!

Just one thing – stay away from eBay, unless you want to save a few dollars and gamble with a used lens. For a bit over $300 you can get it from reputable retailers such as B&H:
